Melissa + Erwing Wedding

What does Nicaragua and the Philippines have in common? I’ll tell you with pictures.

Erwing and Missy met a few years ago when Missy decided to go to Nicaragua for work. Little did she know in 2014 that she was to fall madly in love with Erwing (from Nicaragua) and that she was going to be in a long distance relationship for a year and half only to realize the inevitable; they were meant to be together.

This began a journey for both of them as they navigated through the U.S system delays and Nicaragua’s socio-political crisis. It was, indeed, a hard patch, but together they overcame what life was throwing at them. Fast forward five years and here we are…

I must say that what I enjoyed most of this wedding was not only to observe true love, but to observe family and what it really means to honor them. One thing that stood out to me during a speech Missy made to her guests was that she grew up with dad being in the military, meaning that she learned to value the times when family was all together. It challenged me, as an observer and a documenter, to value such precious family times. I hope that I was able to capture the true entity of this night. Love reigns.

P.S Missy and Erwing decided to do a “First Look” before their ceremony. I was NOT disappointed :).

Caleb + Elizabeth

I am not sure how many San Antonio photographers have ever done a session in La Villita, but let’s just say I was blown away with the colors I got to play with. Not only were Caleb and Elizabeth a great couple to work with, but their chemistry in these pictures left no doubt to the unbeliever. From slow dancing to hanging out with their pup Mia, I was left enchanted. I hope you are too.

Vanesa + Troy

This may seem to you as an elopement, but it really wasn't. Vanesa and Troy got married on a wintery day in Houston, TX. Shortly after their civil ceremony, they headed out to buffalo bayou to go on an adventure as a newly married couple. Just the two of them. In fact, this was such a relaxed session that the groom changed into something more comfortable, something more like them. This day turned out to be very cloudy, but the scenery on that downtown view was mesmerizing. The fog behind that skyline...just epic. Enjoy this sweet session.
