The Herron Wedding

Some love stories begin with a quiet thought that never really goes away.

When I asked the groom to tell me their love story, he said the following:

"When we were in high school and I saw you in your dress for your quince, I couldn't help but want to fall in love. When that day passed, I thought a lot about seeing you in another dress like that. Years later, I get to see you in another beautiful dress—this time as my bride."

There is something incredibly beautiful about a love that waits.

Long before wedding planning, engagement photos, or saying "I do," there was a teenage boy watching the girl he admired celebrate one of the biggest milestones of her life. He had no way of knowing what the future would hold, but somewhere in that moment, he imagined seeing her dressed in white one day.

Years later, that dream became reality.

As she walked toward him, she wasn't just wearing another beautiful dress. She was wearing the dress he had unknowingly been waiting to see for years. The quinceañera gown had become a wedding gown, and the girl he admired had become his wife.

Moments like these are why I love documenting weddings.

It's never just about beautiful florals, elegant venues, or perfectly timed sunsets. It's about preserving the stories that live between the photographs—the memories, the anticipation, the years of growing together, and the words that will mean even more decades from now.

Every couple has a story that's uniquely theirs. Sometimes it's found in a first glance. Sometimes it's hidden in handwritten vows. And sometimes, it's in a groom remembering a quinceañera from years ago and realizing that God had been writing their story long before either of them knew how it would end.

These are the moments worth remembering.

These are the moments worth photographing.

Adcock Wedding

It’s been a while since I have posted, but I choose to celebrate the coming wedding season with last year’s ultimate fall wedding. This bride and groom had a DYI backyard wedding; their unique personalities filled every detail. These two humans made love look easy. The bride, elegant in every way, seemed to draw every eye that fell on her. There was no greater vision than these two on the dance floor.

One of the things that stood out to me during this day was the sunset. The first picture below showcases the feel of the night. Vibrant, yet moody colors, enunciated the evening. If you’re a future bride, this intimate wedding will leave you inspired to pursue the quiet nosltagic feeling of a fall backyard whimsical wedding.

We are entering a new era in Los Castro Photography. The era of full time. For the past twelve years we have had experiences in every area of photography- including international photography. We officially made it a business in 2018 when coming back from living abroad. The husband and wife team eventually turned into me- Michel- running the business and keeping it steady with the popular mini sessions, family sessions and weddings. I became a teacher during this time and had no intentions of becoming a full time photographer, until my second daughter was born. This new season challenged my perspective on life, causing me to leave everything I have ever known and try the unknown. I am officially going full time into photography! We are keeping the name, but creating more content, and hopefully collaborate with creative vendors. Spread the word- Los Castro is no longer a side hustle- it is officially available as a full time business.

We are celebrating this news with our most recent engagement session- Chris and Rebeca. Together we ventured out to Eastern Glades park in Houston, Texas and caught the golden hour. These braves souls managed to have an engagement session during the beginning of a Texas summer. We all know this heat ‘aint no joke. These two made their session look effortless; the romance was off the charts! As you scroll through these pictures, may you be reminded that love is a commitment, an effort, a promise to one another. An engagement session is quite telling when two are in love, and these two are glowing.

Stay tuned for future updates on Los Castro - A future giveaway is in store ! ;)
