The Arayas

Just imagine a cabin in the middle of the woods on top of a hill. Imagine that this is where you live. That's how the Araya's welcomed us in as we stepped into their preicous home . Cartago is known as the city of fog, something that is very obvious in these pictures. Cloudy days once ruled Cartago every day, but because of deforestation the city now faces various sunny days. Yet, the magic of Cartago is ever present. The Araya family has a great story of how the Love of God covered their lives as they faced many trials in the past. Now, they are a solid family that loves to share the love of Jesus in their community.

Meet Danny (aka Chino), Marcela, Abby and Amy.

Whitney Harr

San José has become very dear to me recently. It rains almost every day. The "rainy season" starts in May and runs all the way through November. It is unlike my dear Ireland where it's always cold when it rains, but I am content with the mere fact that cloudy days fill my week.

Not too long ago we welcomed in the new students that are now attending CINCEL. One of them, Whitney Harr, is heading to Nicaragua to work with high school/ college aged student, as well as many other opportunities that may come her way. Whitney is here for eight months and has adjusted well to the culture. She loves to cook, bake, and make new friends. In fact, no too long ago, she was teaching me how to make a homemade apple pie. Ya'll... it was delicious. Whitney is one of ten siblings, she is 6 feet tall and has gorgeous eyes. She truly captivates anyone that stands in her way, she is what many call: beautiful inside and out.

On the day of the shoot we headed out after a rainy afternoon to catch a few shots just right before sundown. I wanted some dark and moody tones and I sure got them! Thanks Whitney for being an awesome model!

The Browns

Let me introduce you to Genevieve, little Jonah, Polly and Michael. This family has been living in Costa Rica for the last two years, giving their all, making an impact in their community. Now, they are heading back to the states, but this time they have Bolivia in mind. With much prayer, they are feeling God guide them to a season (if not a lifetime) to Cochabamba, Bolivia. There little Genevieve and Jonah will be raised to serve God with all their heart, mind and soul. Knowing that I had little time in my hands before their departure (as well as my own) I contacted Polly asking her if I could photograph her family. I am so glad she said yes! I had in mind an indoor session with white sheets and lots of jumping, but hey... I got much more than that...
