Barrio Amón, San Jose, Costa Rica by Clarita Castro

So often in the bible the city near God's heart is referred to as a "she". He later describes his followers as his "bride". When I think about cities, I think about the love of God for that city. San José is such a young, artistic and beautiful city. When one glances at her not much is revealed, but when you walk her streets, talk to her people, and see her heart, you are captured. She is yours for that one single moment and you cannot help but look at her walls and cherish her heart.

Near downtown you will find Barrio Amón; a very artistic neighborhood. A few weeks ago they were hosting a cultural event and Brian and I took advantage of this opportunity to take our cameras out for a stroll. During this time we met new people, ate a good meal with our friends, drank some good coffee, watched a dancing show, and went to an indoor market. We had our first experience in “street” photography. In these next few images you will find true beauty, but above all, you will see real stories. In Barrio Amón you will find a young potter, Mayahuel, working in the basement of her professor’s house. You will see a colorful fashion show; you will meet the world’s best coffee. You will see a random couple meeting as if it were the first time, kissing carelessly in front of the masses. Further down you will find yourself in the heart of San José: downtown. You’ll see her from above, naked and stripped down, showing everyone her many stories. In her people live; in her people have made themselves a home.

Stephanie Jerez by Clarita Castro

I am behind on my blogging due to being uber busy packing and enjoying quality time with friends and family before we move to Costa Rica and Chile. So today I have a special treat, but it's kinda late for graduations. Stephanie Jerez is an education major and has graduated from University of Houston! She is a one of a kind woman and I am sure she will make a great impact in the next generation!

Ashton by Clarita Castro

Just a couple of weeks ago I met Ashton Joyce. She truly is a remarkable woman! Currently engaged, and embarking on a new journey to become a doctor, she wanted pictures for her upcoming graduation from the University of Houston. Together we had a sunrise session at the bayou bend on Allen Parkway in Houston, TX. This day, though a very humid day, was a great for lighting! Ahston is a natural a the camera and the sunrise session complemented her well.

During our walk she told me that the location suited her well, since her name means "tree". We were most definately surrounded by trees. This session truly had a magical appearance. Everything seemed to be perfect and was done just in the right time. Thank you Ashton for letting me be a part of your story!

Bunmi- The Fashion Gal by Clarita Castro

Bunmi Ogunyele is not only a REAL doctor but also a beautiful fashionista. I met her on our first wedding ever almost two years ago. She was the make-up artist and I was the photographer. This past weekend she launched her new fashion blog! You can click here to read one of her first posts! In there you will find her first photoshoot with me, which I will also share here. I was so blessed and honored when she reached out to me for this project. We sat down one evening at CoCo Crepes a few days before the shoot, talking about our dreams and visions. We were unified in what we each wanted. I couldn't be more happy than to make this connection with Dr. Bunmi. You can also find her writings in the near future on the Inner Loop Newspaper , in which she will be writing a health and beauty column. For now, enjoy this fashion beauty shoot!
